I don’t think I’ve been this impressed by a record in a decade. The new Bon Iver record is truly a breathtaking work of art. I’ve been listening to the song “Beth/Rest” on repeat for the past few days. The juxtaposition of the 80’s keyboard sounds and Justin Vernon’s voice/lyrics/composition is so perfect it angers me. When an artist can transcend such a dated sound and actually make a progressive, modern piece out of it, that is true genius. This is a cover version I did to pay homage to this brilliant artist and piece of music. If you haven’t heard this record you are fucking up so badly. Buy it. Bathe in it. Here are the lyrics for those interested.
